KEARNEY, Neb. — A Kearney man was arrested early Thursday after police say he was recorded on a Ring doorbell camera making aggressive threats and sexually-charged comments toward his ex-boyfriend during a late-night disturbance.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers were called to a home on the 400 block of West 28th Street around 1:15 a.m. after the victim reported that his ex, identified as 27-year-old Marcus Delaney, was outside his door yelling and refusing to leave.

Police said the victim provided Ring footage showing Delaney appearing intoxicated, pacing on the porch, banging on the door, and shouting a series of escalating threats. Delaney could be heard yelling, “Open this damn door before I show you I still know how to get inside this house!” and, “You think I won’t come through this door? Keep testing me.”

Investigators said Delaney also made sexually-charged taunts aimed at the victim, including, “Don’t play scared now — you didn’t act like this when you were calling me last week,” and, “You know exactly why you’re hiding. You know nobody else does you like I do.”

At one point, Delaney leaned into the camera and slurred, “You miss me, and you know it. Stop acting brand new before I remind you why you kept letting me back in.”

The victim told officers Delaney becomes “loud, reckless, and obsessed” when he’s been drinking and said the comments were “classic drunk intimidation.”

Police said Delaney was still outside the residence when officers arrived. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Buffalo County Jail.

He is charged with harassment, stalking, and making terroristic threats. His initial court appearance is scheduled for next week. No injuries were reported.
