Texas Man Arrested After Alleged Lewd Conduct Inside Home Depot

Must read

A Texas man was arrested this week after police say he was caught engaging in lewd behavior inside a Home Depot store, an incident that alarmed customers and prompted an immediate response from employees.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at a Home Depot location in the Dallas–Fort Worth area during normal business hours. Store employees contacted police after noticing a man allegedly performing sexual acts in a public aisle, behavior officers said was visible to nearby shoppers.

Police identified the suspect as Derrick Vaughn Cole, 41, of Tarrant County. Officers arrived at the store and detained Cole without incident. Investigators said families and other customers were present at the time, which escalated concerns and led to portions of the area being temporarily closed while police reviewed surveillance footage.

No injuries were reported, but authorities said the incident caused distress among customers and staff. Cole was charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure and disorderly conduct, according to preliminary booking information. Police noted that the charges stem from alleged conduct in a public space and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.

Cole is expected to appear in court later this month. Police reminded the public that anyone who witnesses similar behavior in public places should immediately notify staff or contact authorities.
