Two Men Arrested on Lewd Conduct Charges at Las Vegas’ Park

Las Vegas-Two men in their early 30s were arrested this week on suspicion of engaging in lewd acts at Sunset Park, a public park in Las Vegas that has long carried a reputation among some residents as a late-night cruising spot, authorities said.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were conducting targeted patrols in response to community complaints about ongoing inappropriate activity in secluded areas near walking trails and wooded sections of the park. During the operation, officers allegedly observed two adult men engaging in what investigators described as open or gross lewdness in a public area.

The men were identified as 32-year-old Adrian Vega and 31-year-old Marcus Hale. Both were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on misdemeanor charges related to public indecency, police said.

Sunset Park, one of the largest parks in Clark County, features picnic areas, sports fields and a popular walking path that attracts families and recreational visitors during the day. Portions of the park, however, have developed a reputation over the years as a meeting place for anonymous sexual encounters.

Residents living near the park have periodically voiced concerns about after-hours activity and behavior occurring in areas visible from public pathways.

Police said increased patrols will continue in response to complaints. Authorities reminded the public that engaging in sexual conduct in public spaces violates Nevada law and may result in arrest and prosecution.
